The Department of Commerce initiated a countervailing duty (CVD) investigation into erythritol imports from the People's Republic of China, applicable January 2, 2025. The petition requesting CVD and antidumping measures was filed on December 13, 2024 by Cargill, Incorporated on behalf of the domestic erythritol industry, and the petitioner stated there are no other known U.S. producers so the petition is supported by 100 percent of the U.S. industry. Commerce found that the petitioner demonstrated sufficient industry support for initiation.
