Finalized Flood Map Changes
FEMA finalized new or modified flood hazard determinations (LOMRs) that revise Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) and, in some cases, Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports for the communities listed in the table. If you live in or own property in those listed communities, your flood zone, Base (1-percent annual chance) Flood Elevation, regulatory floodway, or Special Flood Hazard Area boundaries may change on the dates shown in the table, which can affect flood insurance and building rules.
Communities Must Meet NFIP Floodplain Rules
The new or modified flood hazard information is the basis for floodplain management measures that each listed community is required either to adopt or to show are already in effect in order to remain qualified for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), citing 44 CFR 60.3. Communities may also keep stricter local ordinances if they choose.
