You Can Request Duty Exclusions
If you import steel or aluminum, you may submit an exclusion request under Section 232 asking the Secretary to exempt the article from duties if it is not produced in the United States in a sufficient and reasonably available amount, not of satisfactory quality, or should be excluded based on specific national security considerations. BIS's Office of Strategic Industries and Economic Security evaluates requests and makes recommendations, and the Secretary may also consider objections and input from other agencies such as the International Trade Administration.
