Mandatory quarterly BE-605 filing for foreign-owned U.S. affiliates
If your U.S. business is 10 percent or more owned (directly or indirectly) by a foreign person, you must complete the BE-605 survey each quarter. The survey must be submitted within 30 days after each calendar or fiscal quarter, or within 45 days for the final quarter of the financial reporting year, and it collects transactions between parent companies and affiliates and direct investment positions (stocks). The Office of Management and Budget estimates the public reporting burden at 1 hour per response.

BEA will mail reporting notices to entities required to complete the BE-605 survey and will contact required reporters individually. If BEA does not contact your entity, you have no reporting responsibilities for this survey.
