Broadcaster avoids forced channel construction
Gray Television, licensee of WYMT-TV, says it cannot complete construction of the authorized channel 20 facility by the construction permit expiration date of March 9, 2025, and petitions to continue operating on its currently licensed channel 12 using its existing technical parameters (coordinates 37°11′38.0″ N and 83°10′52.0″ W). The FCC proposes to grant the substitution, allowing Gray to remain on channel 12 rather than completing the channel 20 buildout by the permit deadline.

WYMT-TV in Hazard, Kentucky currently operates on channel 12 and had a construction permit to move to channel 20 that expired March 9, 2025.
