Renewal of Jones Act Data Collection
If you own or operate a qualified Jones Act vessel or use one, MARAD intends to renew the information collection (OMB 2133-0545) that gathers vessel availability information. That means the requirement to provide availability information will continue pending OMB approval and public comment.
Reduced Paperwork Burden Noted
MARAD states that since the last renewal there was a reduction in the public burden for this collection, meaning ship owners and companies using these vessels will face fewer forms to fill out than before. MARAD is asking for public comments before seeking OMB approval to renew the collection.
