Preliminary Dumping Finding on Indian Shrimp
The Department of Commerce preliminarily found that some producers or exporters of frozen warmwater shrimp from India sold shrimp at less than normal value during February 1, 2023 through January 31, 2024. That preliminary finding can lead to antidumping duties (extra import taxes) being assessed on those shipments if final results confirm the finding.
Potential Higher Prices for U.S. Buyers
Because Commerce preliminarily found below-normal pricing for shrimp from India during February 1, 2023 through January 31, 2024, U.S. importers may face extra duties that could raise wholesale or retail shrimp prices. Consumers who buy shrimp may see higher costs if duties are applied after the final review.
