Workers from Hematite (1958–1965) Under Review
NIOSH is evaluating a petition to add employees of United Nuclear Corporation at the Hematite, Missouri site who worked there from January 1, 1958, through June 30, 1965, to the Special Exposure Cohort under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act of 2000. If the cohort is designated, those employees or their families could get easier access to federal health benefits and compensation. NIOSH published the decision to evaluate in the Federal Register on December 30, 2025.
