NYSE Arca Tweaks ETP Fees to Stay in the Game
Published Date: 1/16/2026
Notice
Summary
NYSE Arca is updating its fees for Exchange Traded Products (ETPs) to stay competitive and fair. This change affects companies that list their products on the exchange and takes effect immediately, possibly impacting their annual costs. The goal? Keep NYSE Arca a top choice for ETP listings without breaking the bank.
Analyzed Economic Effects
4 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 1 mixed.
New annual ETP fee tiers
If you are an issuer that lists Exchange Traded Products (ETPs) on NYSE Arca, the Exchange is changing annual listing fees (paid each January). For index-tracking ETPs the new tiers are: under 25 million shares $8,500; 25 million–99,999,999 shares $15,000; 100 million–249,999,999 shares $25,000; and 250 million or more shares $30,000. For certain non-index ETPs the table is the same except the under-25-million tier is $10,000.
Simplified reduced-fee ADV buckets
If your ETP qualifies for a reduced annual fee based on primary listing market auction volume (ADV), NYSE Arca is replacing five ADV buckets with three: 60,000 shares or more → $7,500; 150,000 shares or more → $6,500; and 250,000 shares or more → $5,000. These simplified buckets take effect January 2, 2026 and apply when the Exchange bills annual fees each January.
Higher auction CADV threshold for High Volume status
To be a "High Volume Product" based on auction activity, NYSE Arca raises the required combined opening and closing auction average daily volume (CADV) from 50,000 to 60,000 shares averaged over 12 months (effective January 2, 2026). The alternative High Volume definition using 1,000,000 shares CADV averaged over 12 months (or since listing if listed <12 months) remains unchanged.
Restructured high‑volume product discounts
If you are an issuer with multiple High Volume Products, NYSE Arca is changing the discount schedule on aggregate annual fees: issuers with 2–9 High Volume Products get a 10% discount per product; 10–24 products get a 15% discount; and 25 or more products get a 17.5% discount. These new bands take effect January 2, 2026.
