The Council is responsible for developing a national ten-year urban and community forestry action plan for 2027–2037, evaluating implementation annually, and developing criteria and submitting recommendations for the Forest Service's National Urban and Community Forestry Challenge Cost-share Grant Program. The Council will hear public input at the April 10, 2026 meeting as part of that process.
