Company Must Implement Additional Cleanup
On March 13, 2026 the Department of Justice lodged a proposed modification requiring BASF Corporation to perform additional remedial actions at the Ciba-Geigy Superfund Site (Operable Unit 3) about two miles north of McIntosh, Alabama. The new measures come from EPA’s Amended Record of Decision in August 2024 based on soil, sediment, and water samples taken between 2019 and 2022.
