Veteran Owners — Chance to Advise SBA

If you are a veteran small business owner or a representative of a veteran service organization, the SBA is seeking nominees to join the Advisory Committee on Veterans Business Affairs to give policy advice to the SBA Administrator, Congress, and the President. The committee provides official recommendations and reports annually and helps shape policies affecting veteran-owned small businesses.

Service Terms: Unpaid, Travel Reimbursed

ACVBA members are appointed for terms of no longer than three years and serve without pay, but they will be reimbursed for authorized travel-related expenses at General Services Administration (GSA) per diem rates when performing official duties. Members serve at the pleasure of the SBA Administrator.

Nominations are being accepted on a rolling basis and should be emailed to the SBA at [email protected] with the subject line 'ACVBA Nomination'. You must submit a resume including contact information and a chronological summary of experience and a current biography.

Committee Makeup: Business and Service Seats

The ACVBA is made up of eight members representing veteran-owned small business concerns and seven members representing veteran service or military organizations. The committee produces an annual report to the SBA Administrator, Congress, and the President.
