Three‑Year Extension of Reporting Form

If you import or export natural gas (including LNG) and hold a DOE authorization, DOE is extending Form FE-746R for three more years without changes. Comments on this extension are due by May 11, 2026. DOE estimates 396 annual respondents, 4,752 annual responses, 14,256 annual burden hours, and an annual respondent burden cost of $1,354,177.

Monthly Data Fields and Public Use

Holders of DOE import/export authorizations must submit monthly details on each transaction—name, country of origin/destination, international entry/exit point, supplier, volume, price, transporters, U.S. market(s) served, and contract duration. EIA and HGEO will use and publish the data to monitor U.S. and North American natural gas trade, assess resource adequacy, support market and regulatory analyses, and help government and industry respond to supply problems.
