Directed Pollock Fishing Closed Apr–Sep 2026

Starting 1200 A.l.t. April 8, 2026, NMFS prohibits directed fishing for pollock in Statistical Area 630 of the Gulf of Alaska through 1200 A.l.t. September 1, 2026. This rule stops fishermen from targeting pollock in that area during the A season to keep the catch within the 2026 A season allowance.

Catch Allowance and Incidental Set-Aside

NMFS set the 2026 A season directed fishing allowance for pollock in Statistical Area 630 at 12,114 metric tons and set aside 200 metric tons as incidental catch to support other groundfish fisheries. While the closure is effective, maximum retainable amounts in Sec. 679.20(e) and (f) apply during any trip.
