Commerce Probes Chinese Bedroom Furniture for Dumping Duties

Published Date: 4/13/2026

Notice

Summary

The U.S. Department of Commerce checked 29 Chinese wooden bedroom furniture companies for unfair pricing in 2024. They found 11 companies are treated as part of a big China-wide group and stopped reviewing 18 others. This means some companies might face new duties, and everyone can share their thoughts before the final decision.

Analyzed Economic Effects

4 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 3 costs, 1 mixed.

11 Exporters Tied to China-Wide Rate

Commerce preliminarily found that 11 Chinese companies did not qualify for a separate rate and are part of the China-wide entity for wooden bedroom furniture for the period January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024. If the final results do not change this finding, entries exported by these companies may be assessed at the China-wide entity rate.

216.01% China-Wide Cash Deposit Rule

Commerce says that for shipments entered on or after the publication of the final results of this review, any China exporter of wooden bedroom furniture that does not have a separate rate will face a cash deposit rate equal to the China-wide dumping margin of 216.01 percent. Non-China exporters without a separate rate will have a cash deposit rate equal to the dumping margin applicable to the China exporter(s) that supplied them.

Importer Reimbursement Certificate Requirement

Importers must file a certificate regarding reimbursement of antidumping duties prior to liquidation of relevant entries for the January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024 period. If importers fail to file this certificate, Commerce may presume reimbursement occurred and could direct assessment of double antidumping duties.

Review Rescinded for 18 Companies — Liquidation Rule

Commerce is rescinding the administrative review for 18 companies/company groupings (listed in Appendix II) for the January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024 period. Commerce will instruct U.S. Customs and Border Protection to liquidate period-of-review entries of subject merchandise exported by those rescinded companies at the cash deposit rate required at the time of entry or withdrawal from warehouse.
