Livestock Drugs Authorized Immediately
If you raise cattle, horses, or other hoof stock professionally, FDA issued Emergency Use Authorizations that allow use of Ivomec (ivermectin) starting February 5, 2026, NexGard and NexGard COMBO starting February 18, 2026, and F10 Antiseptic Wound Spray with Insecticide starting March 10, 2026, to prevent or treat New World screwworm (NWS) infestations. The EUAs permit these products to be used and introduced into interstate commerce during the emergency to protect animals from NWS.
Pet Treatments Authorized Quickly
If you own a dog or cat, FDA authorized emergency use of Ivomec (ivermectin) and NexGard products to treat New World screwworm infestations, with authorizations effective February 5, 2026 (Ivomec) and February 18, 2026 (NexGard products). These EUAs let veterinarians and caretakers use these products during the emergency to protect pets from NWS.
Wildlife and Zoo Animal Therapies Allowed
If you care for wild, exotic, or zoo animals, FDA issued an Emergency Use Authorization (effective March 10, 2026) for F10 Antiseptic Wound Spray with Insecticide to prevent and treat NWS myiasis in raptors, wild birds, pet birds, captive wild, exotic, and zoo mammals, and certain hoof stock and horses. The authorization permits emergency use of this product during the declared NWS emergency.
