One‑Year Clean Water Exemption for Air Force Training
The President exempted the United States Air Force's jet fighter training operations in Idaho, Oregon, and Nevada from Federal, State, interstate, and local requirements, administrative authority, process, and sanctions respecting the control and abatement of water pollution. The exemption runs from April 20, 2026 through April 20, 2027 and explicitly applies to aspects of those operations that are the subject of litigation in Oregon Natural Desert Ass'n v. Meink (Case No. 2:23-cv-01898 (D. Or.)).
Statutory Exceptions Still Apply
The Presidential exemption explicitly does not apply to the requirements of 33 U.S.C. 1316 and 1317; those statutory requirements remain in force for the Air Force's jet fighter training operations. This limitation is part of the same 1-year exemption period from April 20, 2026 to April 20, 2027.
