Fax Ban — Email-Only Reporting

If you operate hazardous liquid or carbon dioxide pipeline facilities, you must stop sending safety-related condition reports by facsimile and instead send them by email to PHMSA at [email protected] beginning August 3, 2026. Reports still must be filed within five working days after a representative first determines the condition exists, and not later than 10 working days after discovery (working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays, and Federal holidays). PHMSA says this change is intended to remove delays and will not impose extra costs.
