Panel Shapes Medicare Lab Test Payments
If you have Medicare, the Medicare Advisory Panel on Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory Tests will advise the HHS Secretary and CMS on how Medicare sets payment rates for new clinical diagnostic laboratory tests under section 1834A of the Social Security Act. The Panel will consider whether to use "crosswalking" or "gapfilling" to set payments and will discuss CY 2027 Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule issues at public meetings on June 10, 2026 and July 14–15, 2026; its recommendations will be posted about two weeks after the July meeting.
