If you are in Wyoming and possess source material recovered from mineral resources processed primarily for purposes other than their uranium or thorium content, the State of Wyoming—not the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission—will regulate those materials starting April 30, 2026. As of that date, a person in Wyoming possessing these materials is exempt from certain Commission regulations.
