Wholesale Rate Increase for Preference Customers
Southeastern proposes higher wholesale power rates from the Jim Woodruff Project starting October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2031. The proposal raises the capacity charge from $8.46 to $9.02 per kilowatt per month and the energy charge from 22.32 mills/kWh to 24.72 mills/kWh, representing about a 6.6% increase for capacity and a 10.8% increase for energy, and would collect $545,128 more per year from preference customers.
Purchased Power Cost Pass-Through
If Southeastern buys power for a preference customer under the proposal, that customer must pay the cost of the purchased power in addition to the applicable capacity and energy charges in JW-1-M. This means customers could face additional charges beyond the stated $/kW/month and mills/kWh rates when purchased power is needed.
