Crescent Junction Site Declared Off-Limits

You may not enter the Crescent Junction Uranium Mill Tailings Repository property in Grand County, Utah without authorization. The area contains approximately 936 acres north of Interstate 70 about 3 miles west of Thompson Springs and is designated an Off-Limits Area under 42 U.S.C. 2278a and 10 CFR part 860.

Enclosed-Area Trespass Penalties

If you unlawfully enter an area of the site that is enclosed by a fence, wall, roof, or similar barrier, conviction may result in a fine up to $100,000, imprisonment for not more than one year, or both, under 42 U.S.C. 2278a and 10 CFR part 860.

Open-Area Trespass Fine Up To $5,000

If you unlawfully enter an area of the Crescent Junction site that is not enclosed by a fence, wall, roof, or similar barrier, conviction may result in a fine of not more than $5,000 under 42 U.S.C. 2278a and 10 CFR part 860.
