30‑Day Notice Rule for 800 MHz SMR
If you are an Economic Area (EA)-based 800 MHz Specialized Mobile Radio (SMR) licensee authorized to exceed standard channel spacing or bandwidth under Sec. 90.209(b)(5), you must provide at least 30 days written notice before starting service in the 813.5-824 / 858.5-869 MHz band to every 800 MHz public safety licensee with a base station in the affected NPSPAC region and to every 800 MHz public safety licensee within 113 kilometers (70 miles) of the affected region. The FCC estimates 26 business respondents, 0.5–4 hours per response, a total annual burden of 21 hours and total annual cost of $50,000 (OMB Control Number 3060-1170).
