Support for New Fishing Gear Innovation

Bycatch and Economic Benchmarks for EFPs
The workgroup will develop bycatch and economic benchmarks to be used when evaluating Highly Migratory Species (HMS) exempted fishing permit (EFP) fishing, with a final report and recommendations scheduled for the November 2026 Pacific Council meeting. These benchmarks will be used to evaluate future EFP fishing activities.
