Night-to-Day Momentary Handoff
When Nasdaq begins 23/5 trading, it will perform a short, momentary handoff as it moves from the Night Session to the Day Session to avoid overlapping data. Night Session orders will be canceled “just prior to” 4:00 a.m. ET (instead of “as of” 4:00 a.m. ET), and the Exchange will accept new Day Session orders again at 4:00 a.m. ET.
8:00–9:00 p.m. Day-to-Night Pause
On weekdays Nasdaq will pause trading each day between 8:00 p.m. ET and 9:00 p.m. ET to perform maintenance, testing, and process corporate actions. At the Day Session conclusion, Nasdaq will cancel all orders outstanding at 8:00 p.m. ET before the Night Session begins at 9:00 p.m. ET.
