MRX Updates Intrafirm Fiber Connection Fees

Published Date: 6/9/2026

Notice

Summary

Nasdaq MRX is updating its rules to clearly include non-contiguous intrafirm cabinet connectivity as part of its fiber connectivity services and is changing the fees for this service. This affects firms using Nasdaq MRX’s network connections between their separate equipment cabinets. The new rule is effective immediately, so firms should check the updated fees and plan accordingly.

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 1 costs, 2 mixed.

New Monthly Fees Replace Installation Charge

Nasdaq MRX proposes new fees for non-contiguous intrafirm cabinet cross-connects: $385.00 per month for a single cross-connect, and bundled monthly prices of $450.00 for 6, $540.00 for 12, $630.00 for 18, and $720.00 for 24 cross-connects. The Exchange would set the installation fee to $0; today the same service can be ordered as a standard Fiber connection with a $550 installation fee and no ongoing monthly fee.

Exchange Will Administer In-House Fiber

Nasdaq MRX will furnish, monitor, manage, inventory, and audit all non-contiguous intrafirm cabinet fiber connectivity within its data center halls, and third parties will no longer be permitted to provide that connectivity in those halls. This change is to take effect in connection with the Exchange's data center standardization around the second quarter of 2026.

Intrafirm Cabinet Connectivity Now Listed

Nasdaq MRX formally lists non-contiguous intrafirm cabinet connectivity as a subset of its Fiber connectivity under Rule General 8, Section 1(b). Customers would no longer be able to select that service under the Custom Installation option in Rule General 8, Section 1(d); the Exchange proposes implementation on or about the second quarter of 2026.
