Possible U.S. ban on imported braiding hair

The U.S. International Trade Commission is considering a limited exclusion order that could block certain pre-stretched synthetic braiding hair and its packaging from entering the United States if a violation of Section 337 is found. The recommended remedy was issued by the administrative law judge on June 5, 2026, and the Commission is seeking public comments (up to five pages) by July 7, 2026. If adopted, the order would apply to products imported, sold for importation, or sold after importation by a list of named companies.

Potential cease-and-desist for Hair Zone sales

The Recommended Determination also includes a proposed cease-and-desist order directed specifically to Respondent Hair Zone (d/b/a Sensationnel) that could stop certain domestic sales by that respondent if the Commission finds a violation. The public may submit comments about how this remedy would affect U.S. consumers, public health and welfare, and domestic production by July 7, 2026.
