12 PACHA Seats Open — Apply Now

The Department of Health and Human Services is seeking nominations to fill twelve (12) vacancies on the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA). Nominations must be emailed as a single package to [email protected] with the subject line "PACHA Application 2026" and must be received no later than thirty days from publication (publication date: June 11, 2026).

Who Can Be Nominated — Eligibility Rules

Nominees must be U.S. citizens and cannot be full-time employees of the U.S. Government; federal employees will not be considered for membership. Individuals may nominate themselves or be nominated by others, but nominees who are federal employees will be excluded.

Appointees Must File Financial Disclosures

Individuals selected for appointment to PACHA are considered Special Government Employees (SGEs) and must file financial disclosure reports at the beginning of their terms and annually; selected appointees will be required to provide detailed information regarding their financial interests.

Nomination Package: Documents & Format

Each nomination package must include (1) a letter of nomination from someone not employed by HHS stating the nominee is willing to serve, (2) a letter of interest/personal statement from the nominee, (3) a current CV no longer than 10 pages, and (4) a short biographical sketch no more than 200 words; documents must be legible (e.g., Times New Roman 12 pt). Incomplete or late packages will not be considered.
