For OCC-supervised national banks and Federal savings associations subject to the advanced approaches rule, the guidance requires: clearly stating the definition of capital and documenting any changes (paragraph 37); maintaining thorough ICAAP documentation (paragraph 41); board approval and regular review of the ICAAP and any changes (paragraph 43); and at least annual review of overall capital adequacy comparing internal measures with regulatory or accounting measures (paragraph 46). The guidance does not apply to small banks.
