Must Tell Fed Before Controlling Purchase

If you want to buy enough shares to control a bank or a bank holding company, you must notify the Federal Reserve first under the Change in Bank Control Act. The Board will review the application using the standards in paragraph 7 of 12 U.S.C. 1817(j)(7).

You can inspect the public portions of bank-control applications at the Federal Reserve Bank listed or at the Board's offices, and you can request them via the Board's FOIA process. Interested persons may send written comments on these applications that must be received by June 30, 2026.
