Temporary No‑Entry Zone for Santa Monica Bay
From June 11, 2026, through July 12, 2026, all vessels and people are prohibited from entering the security zone in a portion of Santa Monica Bay unless authorized by the Captain of the Port. The zone is the waters bounded by the coordinates beginning at 33°55.61' N, 118°26.87' W and the points listed in the rule.
Enforcement Dates and Public Notices
The security zone may be enforced June 11, 2026, through July 12, 2026, with the rule effective without actual notice from June 15, 2026, through July 12, 2026. The Captain of the Port will announce the specific enforcement periods by Broadcast Notice to Mariners, Local Notice to Mariners, or actual notice (PATOM) on scene.
How to Request Entry Permission
If you need to enter the security zone during the enforcement period, you must obtain authorization from the Captain of the Port or a designated representative. To seek permission, contact them on VHF‑FM channel 16 or by telephone at (310) 521-3801.
