Thailand Added to Authorized Destinations

On June 16, 2026, the Department of Energy added Thailand to the list of "generally authorized destinations" in Appendix A to 10 CFR Part 810. This means exports of certain controlled nuclear technology and assistance to Thailand are now generally authorized under Part 810 rather than requiring a case-by-case Secretarial authorization.

Eases Authorization Burden for Small Exporters

DOE estimates about 10 percent of entities affected by Part 810 are small businesses. Because transfers to Thailand no longer require specific authorization, small businesses that export nuclear-related technology (which often required up to 40 hours of legal assistance for an initial Part 810 filing) are expected to face less administrative burden.
