Two Firms to Pay Past Cleanup Costs

The EPA negotiated two CERCLA administrative settlement agreements with WM Recycle America, L.L.C. and Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations, Inc. so those companies agreed to pay EPA for their respective portions of costs the Agency incurred responding to the time-critical removal action at the Recycletronics–Akron Farm Facility in Akron, Iowa.

Removal of 944 Tons of Lead Waste Completed

Between March 2022 and July 2022, EPA conducted a fund‑lead time‑critical removal action at the Recycletronics–Akron Farm Facility and removed approximately 944 tons of lead‑containing cathode ray tube glass from the site. The notice identifies lead as a hazardous substance under CERCLA.

Public Comment Period Open Until July 23, 2026

You can submit written comments on the proposed settlement agreements (Docket ID No. EPA-R07-SFUND-2026-2806) at https://www.regulations.gov or to EPA Region 7 (contact: Catherine Chiccine) through July 23, 2026. EPA says it will consider all comments and may modify or withdraw its consent to the settlements if comments disclose facts showing the settlements are inappropriate, improper, or inadequate.
