Harmonized testing rules for chicken anthelmintics

On June 24, 2026 the FDA announced final Guidance for Industry (GFI #114; VICH GL21) titled "Effectiveness of Anthelmintics: Specific Recommendations for Chickens--Gallus gallus." The guidance gives study design recommendations specific to chickens to help the generated effectiveness data gain universal acceptance to meet national and regional requirements for anthelmintic (worm-killing) drugs; it is to be read with GFI #90 (VICH GL7) and was endorsed by regulatory agencies in October 2024.
