New Procurement List Additions Help Nonprofits

Starting July 26, 2026, the federal Procurement List adds several products and services that must be supplied by qualified nonprofit agencies that employ people who are blind or have severe disabilities. Examples include batteries (AA, 1/2AA, sealed lead acid) added as mandatory for the Department of Defense and janitorial and HAZMAT support services for specified federal sites in Guam, Athens GA, and multiple Navy locations in California. This change gives the named nonprofit suppliers more guaranteed work from the listed contracting activities.

Procurement List Deletions Remove Some Supplier Work

Also effective July 26, 2026, the Procurement List deletes several products so they are no longer mandatory buys from the listed nonprofit suppliers. Deleted items include round-ring binders (Corpus Christi, TX), multiple dated 2026 planners and calendars (Chicago, IL), electrical insulation tape (Baltimore, MD), and certain hand sanitizers (Austin, TX). These deletions remove the mandatory procurement preference for the listed nonprofit sources for those items.

No Price or Deadline Changes for Buyers

The notice states these Procurement List updates keep things fair and support nonprofit employment without changing prices or deadlines for buyers. The additions and deletions become effective on July 26, 2026, but federal buyers are not seeing price or deadline changes as part of this action.
