Apply to be a MRRIC Stakeholder

You can apply to serve as a stakeholder representative on the Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee by submitting a completed application and endorsement letter that the agency must receive no later than July 31, 2026. Applications may be emailed or mailed to the Corps at the addresses listed in the notice.

Volunteer Role; Travel Reimbursed

Stakeholder members serve without federal compensation, but travel expenses incurred by members are currently reimbursed by the federal government, subject to law and availability of appropriations. Members should plan to serve on a voluntary basis and expect travel reimbursement processes to apply.

Three-Year Terms; Unlimited Reappointment

Stakeholder representative members serve three-year terms and there is no limit on the number of terms a member may serve. Incumbent members seeking reappointment do not need to re-submit a full application but must submit a renewal request as outlined in the Corps' process document.

Who Can Represent Stakeholder Interests

Applications are being accepted for stakeholder representation in these categories: Agriculture; At Large; Conservation Districts; Flood Control; Irrigation; Local Government; Navigation; Recreation; and Water Supply. Applicants must demonstrate they meet the definition of 'stakeholder' in the Committee Charter.

Application Documents and Disclosures Required

To be considered, each application must include the applicant's name and primary stakeholder category, written statements of expertise and roles, a description of past collaborative experience and communication network, and a written endorsement letter from an organization, local government body, or formal constituency. Applicants must disclose if they are directly employed by a government agency or program and any conflicts of interest.

Membership Commitments and Training Requirement

Selected members must be able to commit the required time, agree to seek balanced solutions, support and adhere to the MRRIC Charter and Operating Procedures, demonstrate communication networks, and agree to participate in collaboration training as a condition of membership. The Corps will consider these criteria when appointing members.

State and Tribal Appointment Pathway

States and federally recognized Native American tribes are eligible for Committee membership through a separate appointment process; interested State and Tribal government representatives should contact the Corps for information about that appointment process. This Notice is specifically for individual stakeholder membership applications.
