Five‑Year Review Could Keep Or Remove Duties

On July 1, 2026 the U.S. International Trade Commission began third five‑year reviews to decide whether antidumping and countervailing duty orders on magnesia carbon bricks from China and Mexico should remain in place. Interested parties identified in the notice (U.S. producers, importers, exporters, unions, industrial users, and trade associations) are asked to submit information by July 31, 2026, and the Commission will decide whether revoking the orders would likely cause continuation or recurrence of material injury. The outcome could affect import duties and therefore prices and trade rules for these bricks.

Penalty Risk If You Don’t Supply Required Data

The Commission warns that any interested party that does not provide the requested information (or adequate notification and explanation) may be subject to an adverse inference under section 776(b) of the Tariff Act when the Commission makes its determinations. Parties that import, produce, or otherwise participate in the proceeding should notify the Commission early if they cannot provide information in the requested form to avoid this adverse inference.
