Court Tweaks Turkish Aluminum Duties in Harmony Dispute

Published Date: 7/6/2026

Notice

Summary

The U.S. Court of International Trade made a new ruling that changes the antidumping duty rate for Assan Aluminyum, a Turkish aluminum sheet producer. This means Assan’s duty rate is updated starting June 27, 2026, which could affect how much they pay when selling aluminum in the U.S. Other Turkish producers keep their original rates. Businesses and buyers should watch for these changes to stay in the know!

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 1 costs, 2 mixed.

Assan's Dumping Margin Raised to 2.14%

Assan Aluminyum's weighted-average antidumping duty rate is amended from 2.02% to 2.14%, effective June 27, 2026. This changes the antidumping margin that applies to Assan's common alloy aluminum sheet entries into the U.S., which affects how much Assan (and U.S. importers buying from Assan) pay on those entries.

Other Turkish Rates Remain Unchanged

Teknik Aluminyum's weighted-average dumping margin remains 13.56% and the 'All Others' rate stays at 4.85%. Those rates continue to apply as previously determined.

Revised Cash Deposit Instructions to CBP

Commerce will issue revised cash deposit instructions to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, effective June 27, 2026. The notice states that this amendment will not change Assan's current cash deposit rate because Assan has a superseding cash deposit rate from a subsequent administrative review; for other producers without a superseding deposit rate, Commerce will issue revised deposit instructions to CBP.
