Three‑Year Extension of Finance Surveys
The Federal Reserve is extending and revising the Census of Finance Companies and the Survey of Finance Companies (FR 3033p and FR 3033s) for three years, with the revisions effective for the September 2026 survey. From the universe determined by the FR 3033p, a stratified random sample of 3,000 finance companies will be drawn for the FR 3033s; that survey will be sent in May 2026 and will collect information as of December 31, 2025. The collection is quinquennial, lists a total estimated number of respondents of 8,800, total estimated annual burden hours of 3,512, and a total estimated change in burden shown as (244); the survey is voluntary and the FR 3033s form is being revised to improve clarity, simplify the form, and add questions on geographical penetration and online presence.
