Summary

The Office of Refugee Resettlement is updating and extending the forms used to apply for or withdraw from the Unaccompanied Refugee Minors Program for three more years. Paperwork time cut for URM applicants

The Unaccompanied Refugee Minors (URM) Program forms are revised to reduce average burden hours per respondent by 33% and to reduce estimated total annual burden hours by 48%. Under the revised estimates, 350 URM Program Application respondents will average 1.00 hour each (350 hours) and 40 Withdrawal/Declination respondents will average 0.20 hours each (8 hours), for an estimated 358 total annual burden hours. Revisions will be implemented after a 12-month implementation timeframe.

Forms translated into multiple languages

The URM Program Application and Withdrawal/Declination forms will be translated into Spanish, French, and other languages as appropriate, with English noted as the authoritative federal version. These translations aim to help non-English speakers complete forms and support unaccompanied minors through the application process.
