Boat Entry Requires Coast Guard OK

If you plan to boat near the St. Clair River Classic Power Boat Race on July 25-26, 2026, you may not enter the regulated race area without prior approval from the Coast Guard Patrol Commander. The rule is enforced from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 25, 2026, and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on July 26, 2026, and the Patrol Commander can refuse entry or limit who can enter.

Transit Conditions and Contact Rules

If the Patrol Commander allows your vessel to transit the regulated area during the event, you must follow any operating restrictions (the Commander may limit entry to vessels with particular characteristics) and operate at no wake speed without endangering participants. To request approval or follow directions, contact the Patrol Commander on Channel 16 (156.8 MHz) using the call sign "Coast Guard Patrol Commander."
