3 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 2 costs, 0 mixed.
Form Went Fully Electronic — Faster Filing
If you hold or amend a Federal Firearms License, ATF has made Form 5300.38 fully electronic so completing, signing, and submitting the form now takes about 15 minutes (0.25 hours) on average. ATF estimates 6,703 respondents annually and an estimated total annual public burden of 1,676 hours after the change, down from prior estimates.
Responsible Persons Must Report Personal Data
ATF added Item 17 asking whether any responsible persons (RPs) on the license have personal data changes; if yes, you must list their names and updates to personal address, email, and home/cell contact numbers on a separate sheet. ATF states this personal data does NOT appear on the license unless also provided as a premises or business mailing address.
Mailing Address Must Be Updated Separately
The revised form clarifies that the premises address change (Item 13) does not automatically update the business mailing address. You must also update the mailing address under Item 14 if it has changed.
