Operator Change on Short Rail Line
Chicago Rock Island & Pacific Railroad will replace St. Paul & Pacific Railroad as the common carrier operator of a 2.567-mile rail line in Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties, California, with the change effective on or after August 7, 2026. Rock Island certifies that its projected annual revenues from this line will not exceed $5,000,000 and that it will not become a Class II or Class I rail carrier.
Shippers' Interchange Rights Preserved
Rock Island certified that the transaction does not include any agreement that would limit future interchange of traffic with third-party connecting carriers, and Rock Island provided notice to all shippers on the Line. This means shippers on the Line retain the ability to interchange traffic with other carriers and have already been informed about the operator change.
