No-Entry Rule for San Pedro Bay Racing Areas

You may not enter, transit through, anchor in, or remain in the designated San Pedro Bay race areas (SF-1 primary and backups SF-2, SF-3, SF-4 with coordinates listed in the rule) during the regatta hours of noon to 7 p.m. daily from July 19–24, 2026 and noon to 7 p.m. daily from August 3–8, 2026, unless you have permission from the Captain of the Port Los Angeles--Long Beach or their representative. The event may involve up to 250 sailing vessels participating each day in the regulated areas.

Must Get COTP Permission to Enter

If you want to enter the regulated area during the event times, you must get permission from the Captain of the Port Los Angeles--Long Beach or their designated representative by contacting them on VHF-FM channel 16 or by telephone at (310) 521-3801. The COTP will announce which of the regulated areas (SF-1, SF-2, SF-3, or SF-4) are being enforced via broadcast notice to mariners and on-scene representatives.
