Museum Intends Repatriation of Two Baskets
If you are a lineal descendant or a culturally affiliated Indian Tribe or Native Hawaiian organization, you may request repatriation of two Kawaiisu baskets (Museum IDs #91.95.26 and #2014.89.3) that the Portland Art Museum has determined are objects of cultural patrimony and culturally affiliated with the Tejon Indian Tribe. Repatriation may occur on or after August 31, 2026, and the baskets tested negative for arsenic on June 2, 2026.
