Museum To Return Three Tribal Items
The Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History intends to return three cultural items — two pot sherds and one scraper — that it has determined are objects of cultural patrimony affiliated with the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. Repatriation may occur on or after August 31, 2026, and any lineal descendant, Indian Tribe, or Native Hawaiian organization may submit a written request (showing cultural affiliation by a preponderance of the evidence) to Amy E. Gusick, NAGPRA Officer, Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History.
