Treasury Boycott Country List Published

The Department of the Treasury published a current list of countries that require or may require participation in, or cooperation with, an international boycott under Internal Revenue Code section 999(a)(3). The list published in the Federal Register on August 10, 2026 names eight countries: Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Yemen. If you are a U.S. taxpayer, this notice identifies those countries under the meaning of section 999(b)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.
