IEX will not auto-cancel orders in Regulatory Halts
During a Regulatory Halt the Exchange will not accept new orders and will keep orders already on the IEX Order Book rather than canceling them. You (the submitting User) may cancel your own orders during the Regulatory Halt, and the Exchange will re-open the security and begin accepting orders when the halt ends.
Operational Halts: orders generally retained, but may be cancelled
During an Operational Halt the Exchange will generally not accept new orders and will keep outstanding orders on the Order Book but make them unavailable for trading; submitting Users may cancel their own orders. However, IEX may decide to cancel all outstanding orders during an Operational Halt based on factors like the reason for the halt and its expected duration.
Rule change made operative upon filing
IEX filed the proposed rule change on July 29, 2026 and asked that it become operative on August 10, 2026 to align with SIP changes. The Commission waived the 30-day operative delay and designated the proposal operative upon filing, making the change effective upon the filing date.
