Cape Falcon to Humbug Mountain was closed from 12:00 a.m. March 25, 2026 through 11:59 p.m. April 13, 2026; Humbug Mountain to the Oregon/California border was closed from 12:00 a.m. March 15, 2026 through 11:59 p.m. April 13, 2026; and the troll fishery from latitude 40°10' N to Point Arena was closed from 12:01 a.m. April 16, 2026 through 11:59 p.m. May 15, 2026.

Recreational ocean salmon fishery closures

If you fish recreationally for ocean salmon south of Cape Falcon, several areas were closed on specified dates in 2026. The Oregon/California border to latitude 40°10' N was closed 12:01 a.m. May 1, 2026 through 11:59 p.m. May 15, 2026; latitude 40°10' N to Point Arena was closed 12:01 a.m. April 4, 2026 through 11:59 p.m. May 15, 2026; Point Arena to Pigeon Point was closed 12:01 a.m. April 4, 2026 through 11:59 p.m. May 15, 2026; and Pigeon Point to the U.S./Mexico border was closed 12:01 a.m. April 4, 2026 through 11:59 p.m. April 10, 2026.
