New fee for Market-Maker MGTN orders
For MGTN options, Market-Maker orders that add liquidity contra Customer and execute electronically will now be assessed a fee of $0.10 per contract effective August 3, 2026; previously those orders were assessed no fee. This change increases explicit transaction costs for Market-Maker activity in these orders.
Tighter SPX quoting, bigger SPX rebates
Cboe adopted new, generally tighter quoting width standards for the GTH1 and GTH2 SPX/SPXW LMM Incentive Programs and increased the monthly rebate for meeting those standards from $25,000 to $35,000, effective August 3, 2026. An LMM may also earn an additional $15,000 for satisfying Mid Term quoting requirements.
Lower customer fee for MGTN options
If you trade Cboe Magnificent 10 (MGTN) options as a Customer, the per-contract transaction fee that was $0.16 will be lowered to $0.10 per contract effective August 3, 2026. This change directly reduces the explicit fee charged on Customer MGTN option orders by $0.06 per contract.
Easier VIX/VIXW LMM rebate requirement
Cboe reduced the minimum percentage of VIX and VIXW series in which a Lead Market-Maker (LMM) must quote during Global Trading Hours (GTH) to qualify for the monthly rebate from 95% to 90%, effective August 3, 2026. The GTH VIX rebate levels remain stated as $30,000 for VIX and $5,000 for VIXW (or pro-rated if appointment begins or ends mid-month).
Elimination of XSP LMM incentive programs
Cboe removed the RTH XSP LMM Incentive Program and the GTH1 and GTH2 XSP LMM Incentive Programs from its Fees Schedule effective August 3, 2026. Market-Makers previously eligible for those XSP program rebates will no longer be eligible for those specific rebates.
